<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing an L-amino acid making a fatty acid or an alcohol such as glycerol a raw material by using Escherichia coli. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing L-amino acid comprises: culturing Escherichia coli in a medium containing a carbon source chosen from a fatty acid or an alcohol, the Escherichia coli having a mutant RpsA protein which has a mutation wherein an aspartic acid residue at a specific position is substituted with another amino acid residue, and which can produce an L-amino acid; and collecting the L-amino acid from the medium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
