A flexible, closed loop, closure gasket includes an elongated body having a resiliently flexible wall between opposing ends. The wall is formed by a resiliently flexible, core surrounded by a flexible outer jacket of interwoven glass fiber yarns. The opposing ends are brought together in a permanent joint formed by an permanent fastener-less physical bond between the opposing ends to provide the continuous closed loop. The gasket is typically mounted between a door and a cabinet or other housing of a device subject to modest to moderate heating and/or potential internal fire or explosion, like a home clothes dryer, certain ovens and trash compactors.
