<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a glass substrate, which can increase end face strength, can reduce variation of the end face strength and can effectively inhibit generation of particles in the end face; and to provide the glass substrate. <P>SOLUTION: A method for producing a glass substrate includes an end face treatment step of grinding the end face of the glass substrate, and etching the ground end face; where the roughness of the end face of the glass substrate after etching treatment in the end face treatment step is 10-35 μm in an Rsm value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
