The present invention relates to a guitar-performance system which enables a user who has a poor understanding of the guitar to easily play the guitar, and to a guitar for performance in the system. The present invention further relates to a method for displaying performance information suitable for the guitar for performance according to the present invention. The guitar-performance system according to the present invention consists essentially of: the guitar-shaped guitar for performance; and a play-control device which controls the system so as to display guitar-performance note information for playing the guitar and to output the sound corresponding to the guitar-performance information inputted from the guitar for performance. The guitar for performance is configured to convert sound corresponding to chord information and stroke information provided by the user into a MIDI signal and provide the MIDI signal to the play-control device. The play-control device is configured to display the MIDI file corresponding to a song and to display performance-note information generated using sound on/off information, which is generated on the basis of the MIDI file, in the form of the chord information, stroke direction information, and stroke timing information of the guitar for performance. The play-control device is also configured to output an accompaniment sound for a selected song and the sound corresponding to the MIDI information input from the guitar for performance.
