The device (1) comprises a positioning device (2) by which the maximum steering angle of the wheels (100,110) of a vehicle is varied and an electronic controller (3) is driven. A sensor (8) is coupled to the positioning device and/or the electronic controller, for detecting at least one of the maximum steering angles of the wheels for influencing wheel-specific information. A correlated parameter sensing unit detects the current steering angles of the wheels. An independent claim is included for a steering system.
