<p>The machine (1) has an actuator moving wooden panels (2) and a cross part (21) relative to each other in a first direction (8) transverse to a second direction (12). A gripping- and transporting unit (27) includes gripping parts (31) in a third direction that is parallel to the first and second directions to detect the panels corresponding to side surfaces (5) to be provided orthogonally to the third direction. The gripping parts are moved relative to each other in the third direction based on dimensions of the panels during an operating phase of the gripping- and transporting unit.</p>
