<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently form an ink supply port by means of machining while suppressing an influence on the inside of an ink chamber. <P>SOLUTION: In a substrate 201, an ink supply port 120 that communicates with an ink chamber 206 and can supply ink is cut with a drill 209 at a position different from one of an energy generating element 202. While the ink supply port 120 is being cut, an amount of light that irradiates the ink supply port 120 is detected, and on the basis of the detected amount of light, cutting is stopped before the ink supply port 120 penetrates. A remaining part of the substrate 201 whereon cutting of the ink supply port 120 is stopped being performed is removed by means of a processing method different from drilling. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
