MICROBIAL CULTURE METHOD AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING MICROBIAL METABOLITE

Provided is a method for the efficient industrial-scale production of microorganisms and the manufacture of a microbial metabolite by microorganisms, using a carbon source having a melting point higher than the culture temperature and low solubility in water at 25°C. A microbial culture method including a step for adjusting the specific surface area of a carbon source having a melting point higher than the culture temperature and solubility of 10 g/L or lower in water at 25°C, to 20 cm2/g or higher, and a step for culturing microorganisms in the presence of this carbon source. Additionally, a method for producing a microbial metabolite, the method comprising acquiring a microbial metabolite produced by these microorganisms after culturing microorganisms by this culture method.
