MICROWAVE DRYER AND MICROWAVE DRYING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To selectively heat a lower layer portion of an agglomerate charged into a drying furnace using a microwave.

SOLUTION: A microwave dryer is provided at a hot-air type drying furnace that makes hot air blast an object to be dried when the object to be dried is transported by a conveyer, and has a microwave oscillator that oscillates a microwave, a plurality of waveguides that are inserted in to a layer of the object to be dried to a depth so that a heating range includes the lowermost layer of the layer of the object to be dried, and a plurality of slit antennas that are provided immediately above the conveyer and have a plurality of openings, and the heating range of each of the waveguides and the openings of the slit antennas are provided to wholly cover the whole of a width direction of the drying furnace.
