<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide purified genes encoding a T cell surface antigen derived from a mammal, reagents related to the purified genes including purified proteins, specific antibodies, and nucleic acids encoding the antigen. <P>SOLUTION: There are provided the purified genes encoding the T cell surface antigen derived from a mammal, the reagents related to the purified genes including purified proteins, the specific antibodies, and the nucleic acids encoding the antigen. Methods for using the reagents and diagnostic kits are also provided.
