IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD OF THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an image of high image quality while a toner consumption amount is reduced when the image is formed by dots.

SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus for forming an image by an electronic photograph system includes: setting means for setting a saving mode for reducing the consumption amount of a recording material used for forming the image; halftone processing means for performing a halftone processing on inputted image data by using a threshold matrix; change means for changing a part of lighted pixels in a region corresponding to the threshold matrix so that a pixel value in the center of the dots to be formed becomes small in the image data which is halftone-processed when the saving mode is set by the setting means; image forming means for forming the image in response to the image data obtained from the change means; and fixing control means for controlling a fixing condition in image formation according to whether the saving mode is set or not by the setting means.
