<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: an extra fine aluminum (Al) alloy wire having high strength and high conductivity and excellent in elongation; an Al alloy stranded wire; a covered electric wire comprising the Al alloy wire; and a wire harness. <P>SOLUTION: The extra fine aluminum alloy wire has a wire diameter of 0.5 mm or less, contains, by mass, 0.03%-1.5% Mg, 0.02%-2.0% Si, 0.1%-1.0% in total of one or more elements selected from Cu, Fe, Cr, Mn and Zr, and the remainder comprising Al and impurities, and has a conductivity of 40% IACS or more, a tensile strength of 150 MPa or more, and an elongation of 5% or more. The aluminum alloy wire comprises the Al alloy having a specific composition containing Zr, Mn and the like, and has a structure having the maximum crystal grain diameter of 50 μm or less, so that, even if it is an extra fine wire, the Al alloy wire is excellent in elongation. The Al alloy wire has a tensile strength of 150 MPa or more after being held for 1,000 hours at arbitrary temperature selected from 80 to 150°C, and the Al alloy wire is excellent in heat resistance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
