The hydrostatic individual wheel drive has multiple wheels and an adjustable wheel motor. The wheel motors are connected with a variable pump through a respective return line, and a throttle valve (2) is arranged in each return line. The throttle valves are adjusted in a proportional manner. The rotational speed of each wheel is detected by a respective wheel speed sensor (1). The wheel speed sensors, the throttle valves, the wheel motors and the variable pumps are connected with an electronic control unit (ECU) through respective signal lines. An independent claim is included for a method for controlling the brake torque of a hydrostatic individual wheel drive.
