Method for customising an back protector

The method involves measuring a chin-navel-distance (D-KB) between chin (4) and navel (5) of a person (1) as an auxiliary variable for spine length (D-R) of spine (3) to be protected. A set (6) of spine protectors of different sizes is provided, where each protector is designed for a specific chin-navel-distance range. One of the spine protectors, whose chin-navel distance range falls within the measured chin-navel-distance, is selected from the set of protectors. The set of protectors is provided such that range differences of the distance ranges of the protectors have same value.
