To detect and characterise an impedance mismatched loop segment (113) in a transmission line:
a. channel frequency response data (702, 805, 902-905, 1002-1005) is collected from a transceiver (101, 102) coupled to the transmission line; and
b. a specific pattern is detected in the channel frequency response data (702, 805, 902-905, 1002-1005). The specific pattern consists of an alternating sequence of troughs and peaks. The troughs are indicative for wide frequency signal reflections at an impedance mismatched loop segment. The peaks are indicative for constructive interference at particular equidistant frequencies as a result of back and forth reflections at an impedance mismatched loop segment (113). The troughs are substantially wider than the peaks.
|
