A semi-conductor device such as a rectifier or a transistor with a conductive base is mounted on a metal support with a ceramic body clamped between the contacting surfaces, the body having been previously provided with a deformable electrically conductive material coating which spreads out during clamping to distribute pressure. The ceramic may consist of beryllia, the base and support of aluminium, and the deformable coating of aluminium, tin or zinc. The coating may be sprayed on or may consist of globules and may be thicker at, or confined to, the central region of the ceramic disc.
