1,080,106. Detecting marks photo-electrically. COMPAGNIE DE SAINT-GOBAIN. Sept. 30, 1965 [Sept. 30, 1964], No.41571/65. Heading G2J. [Also in Division G1] Lines on the surface of a travelling sheet (e. g. scores for subsequently breaking a sheet of glass) are illuminated by projecting the image of a rectilinear filament on to the surface of the sheet so as to coincide with the line as it passes a particular position, diffused light being collected from substantially the whole illuminated portion of the line and directed on to a light sensitive device which emits a signal when the line passes. The image of the filament may be focused by a planocylindrical lens and the diffused light led to the photo-cell by a light-transmitting filament.
|
