A filter for filtering particles from air or fluid comprises: a first and second end, wherein the first end (324) comprises an aperture (314) with diameter greater than a diameter associated with the second end (330); one or more sections of pleated filter media (334, 336) comprising a plurality of pleats formed in a substantially conical shape about an axis around an inner void region in communication with the aperture; and one or more radial support regions (304) which maintain the spacing of the plurality of pleats and are in circumferential contact with at least one of an outer surface of the filter media. The radial support region (304) may comprise an extruded banding material comprising a thermoplastic polyester elastomer, and the filter may comprise a first filter section (320) joined with a second filter section (322). Also claimed is a method of filtering particles using the filter, and a filtration system comprising a filter house operable to receive a fluid or gas flow (312) to be filtered and a plurality of filter cartridges (332) as described. |
