A railway baseplate 1 comprising a plate 10, made at least partially of plastics material and configured to provide a rail support region 11, and first and second metal fastenings 120A, 120B each comprising a first railway rail clip engaging portion 121, 122, a second railway rail clip engaging portion 121, 122, and an elongate portion 123 connecting the first railway rail clip engaging portion to the second railway rail clip engaging portion. The elongate portions of the metal fastenings extend under the rail support region of the plate. The first railway rail clip engaging portion of the first and second metal fastening extend upwardly through the plate on one side of the rail support region of the plate, and the second railway rail clip engaging portion of the first and second metal fastening extend upwardly through the plate on the opposite side of the rail support region of the plate. A first and second anchoring device 12A, 12B is formed by the first and second rail clip engaging portions. |
