<p>The invention relates to a lightweight panel (1) for making furniture, comprising a top cover panel (2) that has an external face (2a), an internal face (2b), and at least one opening (5) connecting the external face (2a) to the internal face (2b). The lightweight panel (1) also comprises a bottom cover panel (3) that has an external face (3a) and an internal face (3b), a central layer (5) arranged between the top cover panel (2) and the bottom cover panel (3), and at least one profiled strip (6) extending in a longitudinal direction (X) to hold an element that is to be arranged next to the lightweight panel (1). Said profiled strip (6) runs parallel to the top cover panel (2), extends into the interior of the lightweight panel (1) through the opening (5) in the top cover panel (2), and is anchored in the interior of the lightweight panel (1). In order to lastingly prevent the lightweight panel (1) from being damaged even when the profiled strip (6) is subject to great loads, the profiled strip (6) securingly cooperates with one of the cover panels (2, 3) in the direction from the bottom cover panel (3) to the top cover panel (2) inside the lightweight panel (1), in the region between the internal face (2b) of the top cover panel (2) and the external face (3a) of the bottom cover panel (3).
