<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device capable of identifying the time point, when received data are generated, using a simple configuration, and to provide a communication system which includes the communication device and a communication method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An ECU 1 transmits time difference information in transmission of data, where the time difference information indicates a time difference (Td<SP>(0)</SP>=Ts<SP>(0)</SP>-Tc<SP>(0)</SP>) between a generation time point (Tc<SP>(0)</SP>) when data are generated and a transmission start time point (Ts<SP>(0)</SP>) when transmission of data is actually started. A repeating installation 2a adds time-difference information for transmission in transmission of data; in this case, the time difference information indicates the time difference (Td<SP>(1)</SP>), where the time difference between a time (Tm<SP>(1)</SP>) when itself starts receiving the data, and a time point (Ts<SP>(1)</SP>) when transmission (transfer) is started, is added to the time difference (Td<SP>(0)</SP>) which is added to the received data. The ECU 1 receiving the data identifies a time point (Tc<SP>(k)</SP>=Tm<SP>(k)</SP>-Td<SP>(k-1)</SP>) before a time difference (Td<SP>(k-1)</SP>) indicated by the time-difference information as compared with a point in time (Tm<SP>(k)</SP>), when the reception of the data is started as the point in time when the data are generated.
