The method involves determining characteristics of color and/or brightness values by using two image element capturing regions. An actual image size of an object e.g. brake light, and/or an actual position of an image of the object are determined depending on determined characteristics of the color and/or brightness values and/or determined amplitude of the color and/or brightness values in an image element capturing region without the intensity distribution caused by an optical system of an image capturing unit (12). An independent claim is also included for a device for determining and processing of image data. |
