<p>A method and system for providing a loyalty program comprises a user providing access to a server to a plurality of receipts from a plurality of providers. The server processes the receipts in order to generate benefits for the user. User devices 103 , such as cellular mobile telephones, interface with an external/internal camera or scanner 106 and are configured to capture images of receipts and are send the captured images to a server 101. The server interfaces with an image processing system and product code matching system. The image processing system converts the images of the receipts using optical character recognition and information recorded is used to match the purchase with a universal product code. Products purchased across a plurality of providers are assessed and a benefit associated with these purchases can be calculated, information is further used to predict user behaviour for marketing purposes. The benefits generated can provide entry into a prize draw, targeted offers, discounts, redeemable points and status.</p> |
