A two-chamber sewage purification and digestion tank has a surrounding wall made up of rings of concrete 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 and a combined diametrical and radial partition 7. A vertical throughflow slot 12 between the chambers is formed by the partition and projection 10 to permit trouble-free flow between opposite vertical edges 12a and 12b. The rings of the container can be transported without damage by means of a rigid connection 11. Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown) relate to a three-chamber container.
