PURPOSE: A power control device of a set top box is provided to resolve the inconvenience of a user caused by booting time by supplying power to the set top box during a period when a TV is often used by blocking power of the set top box after predetermined time. CONSTITUTION: A control unit(116) receives TV on/off from a load sensing unit(108). If a TV is turned on, the control unit turns on a AC(Alternating Current) switch relay(114) to supply AC power to an STB(Set Top Box) and peripheral devices through a second AC output socket(112). If the TV is turned off, the control unit turns off the AC switch relay after time predetermined by a delay time setting unit to block the AC power supplied through the socket.
