1,130,148. Latches. A. SCHAUDEL. 16 March, 1966 [31 March, 1965], No. 11538/66. Heading E2A. A fastening arrangement for sliding members comprises a rotatable latch member 5 adapted in one angular position to be incapable of passing through a slot 10 and in a second angular position to be capable of passing through the slot, biassing means urging the latch member to the first position and means to rotate the latch member from the first to the second position. As shown the latch member 5 is pivoted on a spindle 4 attached to a frame member 2 and is biassed in use by a torsion spring 8 to a non vertical position in which its ends 9, 9a engage behind the edges of the slot 10 in the edge of a panel. The latch member is operated to its release position by a push-button member 18, and the mechanism includes a stop member 12 which is biassed outwardly towards the edge of the panel by a spring 13 and maintains the latch member 5 in the second position until the panel is moved to its closed position. A similar mechanism is applied to the opposite edge of the panel.
|
