摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve power factor of a brushless DC motor by devising the width of a slot opening. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The brushless DC motor 100 is configured of a field portion 110 having permanent magnets 100N, 100S and an armature 120 in which an armature winding 122 is applied to each tooth t. Magnetic pole portions U1, W2, V1, J2, W1 and V2 are configured on the armature 120, and the magnetic poles each have a structure in which armature winding is centrally wound around the two teeth t and adjacent teeth t have reverse winding directions. The slot opening width SW1 of a slot for incorporating the same-phase armature windings is wider than the slot opening width SW2 of a slot for incorporating the different-phase armature windings. As described above, the slot opening width SW 1 is made to be wide so that magnetic resistance in each of the magnetic pole portions increases and inductance is reduced to improve a motor power factor, and the slot opening width SW2 is made to be small so that the effective magnetic flux hardly decreases.
