<p>2,3,6-Trichloro-4-bromophenol is prepared by reacting 2,3,6-trichlorophenol with a brominating agent in an alkanoic acid or by reacting 3,6-dichloro-6-bromophenol with a chlorinating agent in an alkanoic acid. 2,4,5-Trichloro-6-bromophenol is prepared by reacting 2,4,5-trichlorophenol with Br in acetic acid.ALSO:Acaricidal compositions comprise as active ingredients 2, 3, 6-trichloro-4-bromophenol and/or 2, 4, 5-trichloro-6-bromophenol together with one or more liquid or solid carrier diluents or additives. The composition may be in the form of suspensions or emulsions in water and may also contain one or more non irritant oils, organic solvents suspending agents disposing agents stabilizing agents adhesives or inseticides; or in the form of concentrates containing one or more non irritant oils organic solvents emulsifying agents or stabilizing agents or in the form of wettable powders containing an inert extender together with one or more wetting agents suspending agents or stabilizing agents; or in the form of dusting powders containing one or more inert extenders or in the form of aerosol solutions containing an aerosol propellant.</p> |
