<p>The roller (1) has a cylindrical roller drum (2) whose surface is covered by a resilient rolling cover (3) that is provided with an outwardly pointing contact surface (4). Surface shapes are provided in the contact surface and collectively define an open area and/or an open volume. The surface shapes comprise a large open area different to a middle area and/or a different large open volume in edge areas with respect to axial length of the roller. The surface shapes are formed as suction holes, blind bores and/or spiral grooves (9, 9') i.e. individual recesses, in the cover.</p> |
