<p>The barrier component 100 is made from at least two layers 110, 120 which are made to visually contrast from one another and a portion of one layer is removed to reveal the other contrasting layer. One layer may be wrapped around the layer underneath and may be concentric with a cylindrical cross section. A third layer may also be applied that is visually contrasting to the first and second layers. Also claimed is a method of making the component comprising the steps of forming a multilayered component and having a surface removal process wherein at least a portion of the contrasting layers is removed to reveal the other contrasting layer. The component may be made by a co-extrusion process. The removal of the layer may be by a milling, etching, or laser ablation method.</p> |
