A method of sealing a pipe joint 10 in which an end of a first pipe 12 extends into an end of a second pipe 14. The method includes forming a locating hole 18 in the second pipe 14 adjacent the end of the first pipe 12, introducing a locating means such as a camera or a laser through the locating hole 18 to identify the position of the end of the gap 20 between the outside of the end of the first pipe 12 and the inside of the second pipe 14. A first settable material is supplied through a hole in the second pipe 14 to form an annular plug to close the end of the gap 20. A sealing hole 26 is then formed in an upper part of the second pipe 14 adjacent the annular plug 24, and a second settable material is supplied through the sealing hole 26 to fill the gap 20 and to form an annular gasket 30 around the gap 20. The method of applying the first settable material may include spraying and the material a two part polyurethane resin including a resin and an activator which may be thixotropic. The method of applying the second settable material may be through pouring and the material a two part polyurethane resin including a resin and an activator. |
