<p>A fire insulation precursor material comprises (i) cement, in an amount of between 10-30% w/w; and (ii) an aluminium or magnesium hydroxide, huntite or hydromagnesite in an amount of between 60 – 90% w/w. The precursor material preferably also comprises a cracking resistant agent such as mica or fibres such as polypropylene, nylon or acrylic fibers in an amount of 2-10% w/w. Also shown is a method of making a fire insulation material using the precursor and a laminate wall panel, a sheath, a duct and a cable tray having a layer or coating of the fire insulation material.</p> |
