A POWER-SAVING COMPUTER HAVING STANDBY MODE AND ITS CONTROL METHOD

PURPOSE: A power saving computer including a battery for a waiting mode and a control method thereof are provided to stably protect working data by stably maintaining a waiting mode state of a computer. CONSTITUTION: A charging power supply unit(10) is charged by external AC power inputted to a power supply(110) and selectively supplies sub AC power and waiting mode operation power. An external power detecting unit(20) senses the input of the external AC power to an external power input terminal of the power supply. A waiting mode signal input unit(30) inputs a waiting mode signal to a main board(120) when the input of the external AC power is blocked. An input device blocking unit and a control unit(41) block an input device signal inputted to the main board only when the input of the external AC power is blocked.
