PURPOSE: A method for preparing cyclic olefin polymers is provided to obtain the polymers of high molecular weight and high yield without removal of catalyst residue. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing cyclic olefin polymers comprises a step of polymerizing cyclic olefin monomer using a catalyst system containing a 10th transition metal compound under the pressure of 1-10 bar of inactive vapor. The inactive vapor contains one or more selected from the group consisting of helium, neon, argon, krypton, xenon, and radon. The reaction temperature is 50-250°C. |
