PURPOSE: An automatic emergency lamp switching system based on a camera and a switching method thereof are provided to turn on an emergency lamp by using the number of white pixels for confirming whether a vehicle entered a foggy region. CONSTITUTION: A front camera(211) photographs the front screen of a vehicle. A calculation part(220) calculates the number of a white pixel photographed by the front camera. The number of the white pixel in a screen is more than a predetermined threshold value. A control part(230) activates an emergency lamp. The number of the white pixel in the screen is less than a predetermined threshold value. The control part inactivates the emergency lamp.
