A system and method for occluding potential entrapment zones in a bed. The system may include a head-end as-sembly with a head-end cover enclosing a head- end pad, and a foot-end assembly with covers enclosing pads. The system may further include a pair of walls extending between the head-end assembly and the foot-end assembly. The walls may include inflatable members.
