PURPOSE: An instant messenger service device and a method thereof are provided to allow a user to easily manage plural chat windows by directly setting and managing positions of the chat windows. CONSTITUTION: A chat window generating module(316) forms a selecting unit, a message input unit, and a message display unit as one chat window. A message transceiving module(312) transmits a message inputted into the message input unit to a selected receiver. The message transceiving module receives a message from the receiver. A chat content display module(318) displays the received message on the message display unit.
