<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect an operation amount of a brake pedal and to achieve miniaturization, in a stroke simulator applying reaction force to the operation of the brake pedal. <P>SOLUTION: An electric motor 14 is controlled by a controller 60 based on the operation amount of the brake pedal 13 to thrust a pressing member 17 through a ball screw mechanism 16, thereby pushing a piston 7 to generate brake fluid pressure. A strain sensor 70 is mounted to a fixed spring receiving part 50 receiving a reaction force spring 34 for applying reaction force to the operation of the brake pedal 13. Based on detection signals of the strain sensor 70, the controller 60 computes the strain of the fixed spring receiving part 50, and computes the spring force of the reaction force spring 34 (brake pedal stepping force) from the computed strain and further computes the stroke of the brake pedal 13 from the spring characteristics of the reaction force spring 34. The strain sensor 70 is small and requires no movable part, so that the stroke simulator 18 can be miniaturized, and thereby wiring processing of the sensor is facilitated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
