<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To atomize a coating material (coating grains) sprayed from an outer peripheral edge of a rotating coating material spraying member. <P>SOLUTION: A coating apparatus 10 includes a hollow rotary shaft 14 which rotates at a high speed by an air motor 12, a rotary spraying head 16 provided atop of the hollow rotary shaft 14, and a tube member 18 inserted into the hollow rotary shaft 14. An outer tube forming member 28 is externally fitted onto a small-diameter part 24 of the tube member 18. A tip part of the outer tube forming member 28 is inserted into an accommodation hole 46 formed in the rotary spraying head 16. Further, the outer tube forming member 28 has a plurality of coating material discharge holes 38 formed radially from the center thereof toward an inner wall of the accommodation hole 46. Namely, openings of the coating material discharge holes 38 face the inner wall of the accommodation hole 46.
