<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking caster with less components, in which maintenability of an elastic member is enhanced. <P>SOLUTION: The braking caster includes: a caster body 2 which supports a wheel 21; a fixing shaft 3 for fixing the caster body 2 to a moving body; the elastic member 4 which energizes the caster body 2 and the fixing shaft 3 in a separating direction; and a braking member 5 which is integrated to the fixing shaft 3, and which brakes the wheel 21 according to a load applied on the moving body. In the caster body 2, an elastic member lower end-supporting section 23 with which the lower end of the elastic member 4 comes in contact is provided.
