<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress contamination of a lubricant applying member for applying lubricant to an image carrier, which results in failure in application of the lubricant without causing an increase in size of an image forming apparatus body. <P>SOLUTION: A lubricant applying member is arranged below a contact part between a cleaning blade and the image carrier in a vertical direction to be opposite to the cleaning blade. An opposing part of the lubricant applying member that is opposite to the contact part of the cleaning blade downward in the vertical direction is arranged on the upstream side of a position where the lubricant applying member contacts a cleaning member in the direction of rotation of the lubricant applying member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
