<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To disclose a technique capable of improving convenience as compared to the conventional technique available of only scanning conditions registered in the image reading device side. <P>SOLUTION: A multifunctional device 30 includes a network interface 36, an operation unit 34 receiving input operation by a user, a reading device 32, and a control unit 31. The control unit executes selection reception processing for receiving through the operation unit 34 a selection instruction for setting either a first reading mode to allow the reading device to execute scanning operation with a priority to a scanning condition received at communication reception processing by the network interface 36, or a second reading mode to allow the reading device to execute the scanning operation with a priority to a scanning condition received at input reception processing by the operation unit 34.
