<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charger capable of effectively inducing charged particles to a photoreceptor. <P>SOLUTION: A charger 100 includes: a corona wire 110 which extends along a prescribed direction and, in response to application thereto of a voltage, generates charged particles for charging a photoreceptor drum 61 (photoreceptor); a pair of shields 130 which face each other with the corona wire 110 therebetween and extend in a direction in which the corona wire 110 and the photoreceptor drum 61 face each other; and a permanent magnet 140 which applies, to an area between the corona wire 110 and at least one of the pair of shields 130, a magnetic field for generating a force which turns charged particles going to the shields 130 toward the photoreceptor drum 61. The permanent magnet 140 is configured so that the applied magnetic field is gradually weakened toward the photoreceptor drum 61 in the direction in which the corona wire 110 and the photoreceptor drum 61 face each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
