<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive position adjustment type steering column device capable of playing a role of a stopper which confines a telescopic stroke in a predetermined range by means of a resin component. <P>SOLUTION: In a position adjustment type steering column device for a vehicle where an outer column and an inner column are slidably engaged with each other, an axial position of the inner column with respect to the outer column can be adjusted by contracting and enlarging an inner circumferential surface of the outer column, a bushing is fixed on an inner circumferential surface of the outer column, ends of the outer column are provided with a flange with one end in the axial direction of the bushing being folded toward an outer-diameter side and a flange with other end in the axial direction of the bushing folded toward an inner-diameter side, respectively, the flange folded toward the outer-diameter side is held between the end of the outer column and a ring. Upon a secondary collision of the vehicle, the flange folded toward the inner-diameter side is deformed by the inner column while the flange folded toward the outer-diameter side is left at the end of the outer column. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
