<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of improving an airflow around the tire. <P>SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire is characterized in that: at least one tire side S has a large number of protrusions 9 and a large number of recesses 10; the protrusions 9 are formed as protrusive streaks assuming longitudinal shapes in predetermined directions; a region F having the protrusions 9 is formed at the radial outermost side of the tire; and a region D having the recesses 10 is formed at the radial inside of the tire with respect to the region F having the protrusions 9. Since the protrusions 9 make air turbulent, a turbulent boundary layer is formed in the region F having the protrusions 9, and the spread of passing air is suppressed. Thus, the air resistance of a vehicle is reduced for improvement in fuel economy. On the other hand, the generation of heat is suppressed by making the recesses 10 reduce the rubber volume of the tire side S, and heat exhaustibility is improved by making the air turbulent. Thereby, since the generation of the heat from the tire and a rise in temperature are suppressed, the durability of the tire is increased. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
