<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constrain fuel consumption from deteriorating while maintaining compactness in axial direction in an automatic transmission in which a centrifugal balance chamber is arranged while overlapping a friction plate in axial direction. <P>SOLUTION: The automatic transmission 1 has a second friction plate 17 which fastens a second drum 27 and a second hub 37, a second fastening hydraulic chamber 67 and a second centrifugal balance chamber 77 which are located on more radially inner side than the second friction plate 17, and a second piston 47 which partitions the second fastening hydraulic chamber 67 and the second centrifugal balance chamber 77 in an axial direction, and fastens or releases the second friction plate 17 based on pressure difference of working fluid in these chambers. The automatic transmission 1 is further provided with a second clutch 7 in which the second centrifugal balance chamber 77 is arranged while overlapping the second friction plate 17 in the axial direction. It is further provided with a second oil path 9 which is formed in a boss portion 41 and extends in the axial direction and used for discharging the working fluid within the second centrifugal balance chamber 77 to a position that does not overlap the second friction plate 17 in the axial direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
