摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a configuration in which gears in an in-wheel motor driving unit do not decrease a contact ratio, even when a wheel hub is displaced due to a lateral force of a tire and the like. <P>SOLUTION: Rotation of a rotor of an electric motor 4 is transmitted to a sun gear 21 of a gear set 5 via a motor shaft 6; and a stepped planetary pinion 23 is rolled along an inner periphery of the ring gear 22 and an outer periphery of the sun gear, and reaches a wheel hub 11 via a carrier 24 and an output shaft 7 in sequence. The motor shaft 6 and the output shaft 7 are set mutually rotatable in a relatively undisplaceable manner. An inner end 7a of the output shaft is borne in a swingable manner in a housing 3 by a bearing 8; an outer end 7b thereof is rigidly connected to the wheel hub; and components 21, 23 and 24 of the gear set 5 are attached to the shafts 6 and 7. Thus, even the prying A of the wheel hub only causes the components of the gear set 5 to be integrally displaced in a radial direction together with the shafts, and does not cause relative displacement.
