<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coordinate input device which is improved in the operability of a touch operation. <P>SOLUTION: The coordinate input device includes: determination means for periodically determining whether or not there is a pointer in a detection area provided in the upper layer of an input surface; derivation means for, when it is determined that there is a pointer in the detection area, deriving a coordinate value of the pointer; detection means for, on the basis of a change in the presence or absence of the pointer, detecting the entering of the pointer to the detection area and the leaving of the pointer from the detection area; and output means for, when the leaving of the pointer is detected, outputting an event signal showing the leaving of the pointer as well as the coordinate value associated with the leaving. The coordinate value associated with the leaving of the pointer is obtained by correcting the coordinate value in the case of detecting the leaving by using the coordinate value in the case of detecting the entering preceding the leaving. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
