<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To confirm authenticity of a device connected to a signal transmission line without providing an authentication engine in a master unit. <P>SOLUTION: In a mutual authentication system for transmitting/receiving data between a plurality of devices and a host connected through a transmission line and having the host successively authenticate the plurality of devices, by making mutual authentication be executed between the devices connected to the transmission line and making the host authenticate the device connected to the transmission line on the basis of a result of the mutual authentication, the device connected to the transmission line is authenticated just by connecting one already authenticated device to the transmission line. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
