LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating oil composition which has a low sulfur content and which is favorably employed for lubricating an internal combustion engine operated using a low sulfur hydrocarbon fuel particularly as a fuel for running.

SOLUTION: The lubricating oil composition for the internal combustion engine has a sulfur content of 0.5 mass% or less and at least includes following components (a) to (e) dissolved or dispersed in a base oil: (a) an ashless dispersant being an alkenyl- or alkyl-succinimide or a derivative thereof; (b) an ashless dispersant being an alkenyl- or alkyl-succinic ester or a derivative thereof; (c) a molybdenum complex of a basic nitrogen-containing compound; (d) an alkaline earth metal-containing detergent having a total base number of 10-400 mg-KOH/g; and (e) an anti-wear agent.
